Welcome to my home
This was a personal project for visitors to my house. I live in an amazing area in Santa Monica and my goal was to share some of my favorite places in a creative book, like a personal Airbnb guide. Inside includes my favorite restaurants and recommendations on how to spend the day. The book is essentially the local’s guide to visiting Santa Monica. I wanted it to capture the spirit of “Cali life” in a modern way. As such the language is written in first person and is directly talking to the reader in a down-to-earth, casual manner.
The hardest part about this project was finding the right printer and the right printing specs. Different shops have different papers available and the quality of print is always different.
I ended up printing this book three times, all at different printers. The outcome was very different each time, but I finally found the specs that I wanted.
